The free edition exists so you can watch it index your real library before spending anything — scanning is the part that either works on your folders or does not. Buying costs you nothing in progress: both builds keep the library in the same file, so the full app opens with your videos, folders, favourites and watched marks already there — no second scan. Your licence key goes into the full app, which you download with the code emailed to you.

For playback, pick your player in Settings: VLC, MPC-HC / MPC-BE, PotPlayer, mpv, any .exe you point it at, or System default player — whatever Windows already opens videos with, which needs nothing installed at all.

It scans your folders, builds your library and lets you browse, search, filter and sort it — the point being that you see it work on your own files before you spend anything. Three at a time. Deactivate a machine from inside the app (Ctrl-K → "License / Activation") to free a seat, then activate another. If a PC is dead or wiped, contact support and we'll free the seat for you.
Once, to activate your licence. After that the app verifies your licence locally and works fully offline — it re-checks online roughly every 14 days, quietly, and a failed check never locks you out. Beyond that the internet is only used if you choose to fetch online metadata for auto-tagging, or let it download ffmpeg. The free edition never contacts us at all.
